Feeling polished?

Since I have been sick my nails haven’t been top priority, but now that I am feeling much better, I have become obsessed with a few new polishes I got over the past month and haven’t yet used.  I have been inspired by all the ladies featuring their must have manicures as well as their desired polish options for winter and for spring so I figured I had to add mine to the bunch as well.

Has anyone seen the latest Revlon Colorstay polishes?  I assume they are available most places now as I saw them right after Christmas and it has been a few weeks since then.  I picked up two of them and a top coat.  You will see below the emerald-green tone and the medium purple.  The “emerald” tone is called “Rain Forest” #220.  The purple is called “Amethyst” #240.  I always have to go right home and swatch the colors on my nails and I can say that these are both gorgeous.  I absolutely love them.  I also picked up a few new shades from the regular Revlon line.  I picked up “Classy” #281, “Sparkling” #261, & “Stunning” #340.  I am loving the look of “Stunning,” and it will definitely go great over any color especially bright colors for spring and summer.

I’ve really been big about combining the glitter polishes over the basic colors.  My favorite two combinations recently have been the new Revlon Colorstay “Amethyst” with Sally Hansen’s Gem Crush in #05 “Be Jeweled,” and Revlon’s “Classy” with “Sparkling” on top.  It’s the perfect rose gold combination.

After seeing “Fab Fatale” featured a manicure with another Revlon glitter option “Facets of Fuchsia,” I had to pick it up soon after.  I was quite surprised when I thought I had purchased “Facets of Fuchsia,” but in fact had picked up Revlon’s new shade of “Scandalous” which is exactly the same polish.  Name change or not, the color is gorgeous and I am in love with it.  The only downside was that I had to use three coats to get it to the desired look.  Other than that, it’s perfect! If you haven’t already done so, head over and take a look at her featured manicure here.

Are there any specific combinations or colors your loving at the moment?  Feel free to share so that I can check them out myself!  :-)

Until next time….

  1. thank you so much for the shout out. a few gals commented at my post on the name change. i guess FOF was part of a limited collection and was so popular that they brought it back under another name. kinda makes sense, but kinda weird too lol. i have another comparison coming soon from the same collection :) thanks again!

  2. Loving your new colors! So pretty! I seriously have to TRY (although it probably won’t happen!) to slow down on buying some new polishes, but I might have to pick a few of these up first! :)

    • The rose gold glitter is great. Definitely needs a corresponding base coat, but it’s gorgeous! As with most glitters, you’ll need patience when applying to get it as even as possible.
